Well, we're entering a week straight of below freezing temperatures. Negative four (not counting wind chill) on Daddy's way to work this morning. The school district was in a two-hour delay this morning, and they've already announced the same for tomorrow. The whole house just never quite seems to be warm despite the registers and the fire going non-stop. Here's a few picture highlights from the week |
We had our first 'real' snow of the year on Friday. Daddy came home from work a bit early to make sure he made it over the mountain, and then played outside with the kids for hours. Malin worked very hard on this snowman. She rolled the balls all herself. The only thing Daddy helped with was lifting the middle ball. Unfortunately, Gavin knocked it over before it was finished. Malin was devistated, but at least we got a couple of pictures of it.
| Nana bought this neat little thing (red ball in center of picture) from L.L. Bean and brought it along to our Super Bowl party last night. You fill one half of it up with ice cream mix, and the other half with ice and rock salt. Then you let the kids roll it around on the floor for 20 minutes and you open it up and have ice cream! It barely makes enough for one kid, but we somehow managed to split it between the four of them. Luckily for the adults, Daddy and Pappy Leister had made 8 quarts earlier in the day. |
Gavin got a special treat Sunday afternoon. Grandma Jean didn't want to brave the cold weather, so Nana and Pappy Tom had an extra ticked to a Penn State basketball game, and invited Gavin along. Gavin and Daddy left church early to get ready, and Gavin begged for a tattoo (a Christmas present from Nana). Daddy managed to find them, and his new Penn State sweatshirt too. He was excited to go, and the report came back that he was very well behaved, and had a good time.
