Happy Birthday Gavin...

I'm blogging from my new laptop, and I don't have any photos on it yet, but, I wanted to update the blog...photos are to hopefully come later!

Gavin turned 4 this week, so I'll write about him! Happy Birthday, Gavin! He got lots of cool stuff for his birthday. We set up a sandbox last weekend for him, and he loves it. Unfortunately, our mild weather has come to an end and it is a little bit chilly to sit and play in a sandbox, but he enjoyed it last weekend before it got cold.

His favorite gift was his "very own Webkinz". He opened it and said, "It's my lucky day!" Too cute. He also got a bulldozer, speedstackers, and a 'Cars' sleeping bag that he has been playing with a lot. He has some snow castle making toys to use when we get snow, too...lots of new clothes, bandaids, toothbrushes and toothpaste...all the stuff on his list!

He had a cake shaped like an ice cream cone...cute, if I may say so! Chocolate ice cream and raspberry! The kinds he likes to get at Mexico Market.

In keeping with the ice cream theme, we made cupcakes in ice cream cones for his treat to take to school. They looked so cute, but I don't think I will make them again! He was very excited to have a party at school...he got to blow out candles and get a special treat bag from the teachers. He got a Curious George book and since he has been really into Curious George lately, he was super excited!

Since it was his birthday, we measured the kids on the wall. Gavin is growing taller, but at 4 he is exactly the height that Malin was on her 3rd birthday! Funny! He is still a bit taller than average, but I think his older sister will continue to tower over him.

We were told lately that Gavin acts just like his father did when he was young. Just very inquisitive and curious and intelligent. Well, this week, Gavin had a timeout in his bedroom. I told him that he could come downstairs when the clock said 4:55. I went out the door and just waited to make sure he wasn't going to follow me right away. I heard noises from inside and knew right away what he was doing...he moved the stool over to his dresser and changed the time on the clock. I quickly went downstairs and sure enough, he was not far behind. He said it was 4:55 and I said how did the time go so fast...he said, "because I changed the numbers!" AGGHH!! What do you do in times like this!?!? Part of me can't wait to see what great things he does in life, but it scares me to death! I know he will survive, but I don't know about his mother! If the next 4 years are anything like the first 4, we will have some great times! Here's to you, Gavin! Thanks for the energy and excitement you bring to our family! We love you!

Trick or Treat

AHHH...how cute!
Malin saw these wings in a magazine and knew exactly what she wanted to be...a butterfly. So, I made them...not too bad! Gavin wanted to be a ghost, but kept changing his mind...me did this last minute. He kept sticking his lips out through the hole in the sheet! Funny kid! Darin was a pumpkin this night, but he was also in a lion costume...but, I didn't get any pictures of that - Dad did though, so maybe they will appear on his website sometime soon!
