Rain, Rain, Go Away

After the nicest week of the year so far, of course it would have to rain for the weekend. Of course, that didn't stop Malin and Gavin from playing outside. They stomped in puddles for a half hour or so this morning, after making pancakes for breakfast and helping Mommy bake cookies for her crop next week. Other than that, today has been a lazy day, playing Candy Land, Sorry!, and hide and seek.

We had kind of a busy week. Monday night I am sure we did something, but I can't remember what it was right now. On Tuesday, Ellie Ritzman came to play with Malin for a couple of hours. Tuesday night we visited Mee-Maw and Aunt Beppers, and took Gavin to Jack's for his first soft-serve ice cream, which he loved. Wednesday the Holderman girls came over and stayed while Mommy, Aunt Christie, and Mam-Maw went shopping in Seilinsgrove for dresses to wear to Tammy Pines wedding in May (They didn't find anything). Thursday we made sure we put the kids to bed early, and we watched a movie (Wimbledon). Last night we all went out to eat at The Bread of Life, and then visited the Holdermans, and then went up around the school to see the Juniata kids in their Prom outfits. Malin really liked that, and was hoping we could get her a fancy dress like that. Maybe someday, we told her! Posted by Picasa

Happy Easter!

The kids had a super Easter! The Easter Bunny visited them and left a package in their bedroom! He also left an egg trail that led them to their baskets! Malin's basket was hidden by the shoe box and Gavin's was under the side of the hot tub. (Two places they spend a lot of time!) Malin had a pink egg path to follow and Gavin had a yellow. They got lots of goodies...Malin got the game Crocodile Dentist, some 4-D farm puzzles, a world puzzle book, a few workbook type books, a pumpkin seed to grow, candy, an some other small trinkets. Gavin got a t-ball stand, a basketball hoop for the back of a door, a recorder to play, punchy balls, a melon seed to grow, candy, a shrinky washcloth and some other goodies.

We went to Church where they sang a song, watched an Easter movie, and did crafts. They got to pick a hyachin (sp) from the front of the Church and then it was on to Mam-Maw and Pappy's for lunch! We had ham, turkey, and all the fixins...an egg hunt and baskets followed! They had loads of fun. Since is was so nice, we just hung out while the kids played and ate candy.

We then headed to Nana Noerr and Pappy Tom's for dinner #2! I was to make bread, so we ran back home to take it out of the bread maker...however, the bread maker shook itself off of the counter and so...I only had dough! Another round of baskets and egg to find there...

What a great day! Happy Easter to all! Posted by Picasa

Easter Eggs...

Yesterday Malin and I colored eggs. She had such a blast, but it was something I didn't want to do with Gavin around...so I thought we would wait until Friday when Doyle was home to do more. Well, Malin wanted to do it again to show Gavin and she was so excited...so, I changed my mind. Gavin has a great time...but, he managed to spill the green dye (right after I took this photo, by the way) and got it all over the place! So...we have lots of brightly colored eggs in the fridge! Lots of mess. Posted by Picasa

Easter Bunny Time

Saturday we went to the Easter Egg hunt at Doyle's work. The kids had a nice time visiting with the bunny and hunting for their eggs. The hunt had to be indoors because of the wet weather. They had milk and cake for everyone and coloring pages for the kids to do. They were each allowed to find 6 eggs. They had a blast finding them! Malin had to pick 6 different colors of eggs and Gavin just grabbed the closest 6 eggs! They were filled with lots of candy which they ate most of before we left! Before the egg hunt we went to Dicks and bought Malin a pair of Crocs (I will post a picture later) and then to Target to get Gavin a second carseat for the car (he is into the booster ones now!) Then, Malin and Gavin chose Applebees to eat at for lunch. That was about all the time we had before we needed to get to the egg hunt. So, we got gas...$2.69 a gallon...over $80 to fill up the Suburban! Ouch! Malin spent the night at Nana and Pappy Tom's house and the rest of us went to the Boy Scout Soup Supper...good cheap comfort food! Since Gavin missed his nap, he was in bed early. Doyle and I watched a movie again...gotta love Blockbuster online! If you haven't seen "Walk The Line" I would recommend it!

Party Leftovers...

We had the basketball reunion party on Saturday night. It was great to see everyone again and great to relive some of the memories. Oh wait...we got together to watch the Final Four games...they were very uneventful! Anyway...we laughed a lot and ate a lot of food and drank a lot of drinks. Some stories that were shared should never have been repeated! We are hoping to do it again next year. Only 3 players could not attend. However, we chose the night of Daylight Savings Time to do this...so we went to Church the next day on about 4 hours of sleep!

Since we had so much food left over, the Leister clan came over for lunch after Church. We put a dent into the leftovers...but, everyone really just wanted the ice cream. Gavin is enjoying the fact that he can now have some milk! We think he has finally outgrown his milk allergy...he does seem to have a bit of exema on his cheeks, but his belly doesn't seem to give him any trouble. This is kind of a typical photo when we get the cousins together! We were not having them look at the camera, but we would have gotten the same results if we had asked...we are lucky to get one of them looking! Posted by Picasa

Can't wait for Spring!

Will he ever give up his binkies when he uses 3 at a time? Usually he just holds on to 2 and has 1 in his mouth, but this day he put all three in his mouth. We were hoping he would be done with these by now!

Malin climbing a tree the other day. She was not afraid to go up, but she certainly didn't like coming back down! We are really looking forward to being able to be outside more. A few days of great weather and now snow and frost again...we just want spring to stick around!
